AUSTIN--The Texas Senate today gave preliminary approval with a 20-9 vote to SB 182 authored by Sen. Dan Patrick (R-Houston), which would require doctors performing abortions to make an ultrasound image available to a woman at least two hours before proceeding with the abortion procedure. The bill does not require that the woman view the ultrasound, but aims to ensure that woman are given what is necessary for a fully informed decision in regard to their healthcare and medical treatment.

The Senate voted to approve the bill on second reading. It is expected that the Senate will give final approval tomorrow. The House companion is HB 36 by Rep. Frank Corte (R-San Antonio).
"We are very happy to hear that the Senate has supported SB 182 with preliminary approval," says Joe Pojman, Ph.D., executive director of Texas Alliance for Life. "This is a good and necessary bill that will help enable women to make fully informed decisions about their medical care."

Early in the day, the Senate gave preliminary approval to SB 1098 by Sen. John Carona (R-Dallas) to create a specialty license plate with the message "Choose Life" to promote infant adoption. The House companion is HB 109 by Rep. Larry Phillips (R-Sherman).

To arrange an interview with Pojman, please contact Director of Communications Valerie Striker.

Reconciled - The Movie Project

April 29, 2009
Guys For Life, INC.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

What: Reconciled - The Movie Project
Where: St. Louis, Missouri
When: Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Guys For Life, Inc. announces the next significant project of the ministry of Guys For Life, Inc. In partnership with Advent Film Group Guys For Life will produce “Reconciled”* a new feature film dedicated at reaching men in unplanned pregnancy, the other half of the equation, as well as those people who can reach those men effectively.

“I am deeply excited to partner with George Escobar and Advent Film Group. This new film will advance the work of this ministry in ways we could never have imagined. In three years we have equipped 120 pregnancy care centers to work with men and have placed over 450 male mentors into fields of harvest nationwide reaching men in need. This movie will greatly eclipse that mark,” said Kurt Ramspott, founder of Guys For Life.

"Advent Film Group is proud and excited to work with Guys For Life in developing and producing "Reconciled," a new feature film inspired by true stories of men struggling to choose LIFE for their unborn child. Following the grassroots production model of recent popular Christian films that matter, such as COME WHAT MAY, FACING THE GIANTS, and FIREPROOF, this new movie will marshal the resources and support of churches and donors surrounding the communities of St. Louis, Missouri."

"I look forward to working with Kurt Ramspott, founder of Guys For Life, on this unique story that is largely untold," Escobar explains. "Kurt has a powerful story about the other side of the abortion issue, how men pressure women in having an abortion. It's about ministering to these men, bringing them to responsible fatherhood."

Texas Aims at Planned Parenthood #life, #prolife

The state of Texas has shut down four Planned Parenthood abortion facilities in San Antonio that were operating without licenses.

Clinic officials say it is a matter of miscommunication, claiming that they were told no licenses were needed because they do not conduct surgical abortions. Jonathon Saenz of Free Market Foundation does not accept that.

"The Department of State Health Services has made it very clear," Saenz points out. "They conducted an investigation. They're aware of the law and how it works and how it should be applied, and they've made a clear finding that Planned Parenthood is in violation of the law."

Obama's Report Card: F!

As the story goes, MSNBC posted a question on their site allowing people to vote how they would rank OBAMA's first 100 days.

On April 15th the poll was significantly in the F category.
Today at the end of April 16th, over 2 million have voted.

Notice the results:

If you were grading Barack Obama on his performance as president, what would he get? * 2180369 responses
He gets an A 28%
He gets a B 6.1%
He gets a C 5.7%
He gets a D 15%
He gets an F 45%

Seems he is still getting an F.

I wonder if MSNBC will now be tagged as a "TERRORIST" organization since that is obviously showing that among 2 million people the current administration has failed miserably. (or will the Secretary of Homeland Security use this pole to confirm that 2 million people have been "radicalzed" and are a threat to this nation.)

Something to think about.
